If installed, regulated and utilised according to our guidelines, the Helios Biothermal Fireplace heating system consumes much less compared to other heat generators. The cost of a thermal kilowatt produced by firewood fuel is much more economic. In fact, the calorific value of firewood when correctly air-dried is 4.3 kwh/kg, versus 10 kwh/l of gasoline and 9.5 kwh/mc of methane.
Therefore, with 2.3 kilos of dry firewood, the same thermal results are obtained as with 1 litre of gas oil or 1 mc of natural gas.
To understand the economic advantage, simply compare the cost of 2.3 kg of dry firewood with the cost of 1 litre of gas oil or 1 mc of methane…a savings of 70%
If purchased in the right period, granular fuels offer even further savings.
